Equipment for measurement systems
Production of equipment for measurement systems is one of the main lines of «GKS», RPE activity.

Filter units
Unit of filters – is a part of the metering system intended to accommodate the filtration equipment. FU is made either as a complete subassembly and delivered separately to the Customer, or as a completely assembled metering system.
Functionally BF manufactured by «GKS» RPE are applicable to the metering systems of liquid (crude and sales oil, unstable and stable gas condensate, LPG, water) and gaseous (associated gas, petroleum gas, flare and marketable gas, steam) media to remove mechanical and other impurities.
Structurally BF consists of inlet and outlet collector, one or more lines for the filter installation. BF may be placed on one or more frames; or each line for the filter installation and the collector separately, for its assembly and installation on the support directly at the object. Furthermore MLU can be manufactured as an open version (on the frame, for placing on an open area or in a building of the Customer) and close version (in a block- box) or the block execution.
- isolation valves, control and measurement of temperature and pressure devices can be placed on the inlet and outlet collectors;
- isolation valves, filters, control — measuring of temperature and differential pressure devices can be placed on the line of the filter installation, drainage and waste pipes on the filter.
When placing the filter directly to the metering line the FU metering system is a part of MLU.
Measuring Lines Unit
Unit of measuring lines – is a part of the metering system designed specifically for placing of the equipment of the product flow measuring. MLU is made either as a complete subassembly and delivered separately to the Purchaser, or as completely assembled metering system. Functionally MLUs of «GKS» RPE production line are applicable to metering systems of liquid (crude and marketable oil, unstable and stable gas condensate, LPG, water) and gaseous (associated gas, petroleum gas, flare and marketable gas, steam) media.
Technological capabilities of measurement systems production allow manufacturing MLU with collector sizes up to DN 1000 mm and measuring lines up to DN 1000 mm. Structurally MLU consists of the inlet and outlet collector, one or more measuring lines and control lines when required. MLU can either be placed on one or more frames, or each measuring line and the collector – separately, for their assembly and installation on the supports directly at the site. Furthermore MLU can be manufactured both as an open version (on the frame, for placing in an open area or in a building of a Customer) and as a close version (in a block- box) of block execution.
- Isolation valves, control and measurement of temperature and pressure devices, isolation kit, a place for probes sampling devices and drainage and wastes pipes can be placed at the inlet and outlet collector;
- Isolation valves can be placed on the measuring line, one or two flow rate meters (for bilateral accounting) (one working and one — idle), devices of temperature and pressure control and measurement, a place for the probe sampling device, drainage and waste pipes;
- Isolation valves, flow rate meter, devices for control and measuring of temperature and pressure can be placed on the control line, and drainage and waste pipes is a place to put the probe sampling device;
- Filters for trapping mechanical solids can be placed at the inlet measuring lines, in case their placement on ML
Quality measurement unit
Quality measurement unit – is a part of the metering system designed for placing of the equipment for the quality parameters of the measured product determination. QMU is made either as a complete subassembly and delivered separately to the Customer, or as a completely assembled metering system.
Structurally QMU manufactured by «GKS» RPE can be made in three versions:
- open version on a separate frame for placement in the existing facilities;
- close version, enclosed in a block-box;
- combined version — QMU is placed on one frame with MLU and can be both of open and closed design. Depending on the size of the accommodated equipment QMU manufactured by GKS is placed on one or more frames, regardless of the open or close design. Functionally QMU are applicable to the metering systems of liquid and gaseous media, if it is necessary to determine their quality parameters
Depending on the application in the respective systems QMU is differentiated by composition of the accommodated equipment:
- Metering systems of oil and petrochemical products
- Flow metering devices of quality determining (moisture meters, densitometers, viscometers, sulfur analyzers, devices for automatic and manual probe sampling);
- Equipment for monitoring and measuring of the media operating parameters (flow meter, pressure gauges, thermometers, pressure and temperature sensors);
- Isolation valves (filters to remove the mechanical impurities, full communicating ball valves, gate valves, check valves and regulators);
- For the pump scheme application one or two circulation pumps are placed;
- QMU washing system consisting of piping, isolation valves, rinsing tank and a pump;
- Systems of gas contamination control and fire, exhaust and inlet ventilation.
- Metering systems of liquid hydrocarbon media:
- Flow devices of quality determining (the system of sampling treatment, moisture meters, densitometers, chromatograph, probe samplers);
- Equipment of monitoring and measuring of the media operating parameters (flow meter, pressure gauges, thermometers, pressure and temperature sensors);
- Isolation valves (filters to remove the mechanical impurities, ball full communicating valves, gate valves, check valves and regulators);
- For the pump scheme application one or two circulation pump are placed;
- QMU washing system, consisting of piping, valves, rinsing tank and pump;
- Systems of gas contamination control and fire, exhaust and inlet ventilation.
- Systems of gas metering:
- Flow devices of quality determining (the system of samples treatment, chromatograph, instruments for determining the dew point for water and hydrocarbons, probe samplers);
- Equipment of monitoring and measuring the operating parameters of the media (pressure gauges, thermometers, pressure and temperature sensors);
- Isolation valves (filters to remove the mechanical impurities, ball is full and communicating taps, valves, gears and controls);
- The system of QMU purging.
- Systems of gas contamination control and fire, exhaust and inlet ventilation.
Process rooms
Manufacturing of process rooms for various purposes occupies a significant sector in overall production of «GKS», RPE; and special production capacities are being reserved for their assembly. Process rooms are made both by the design documentation of our own design, as well as on the basis of a design documentation set.
Functionally process rooms can be divided into the following types, depending on the equipment located therein:
- for equipment being directly a part of the metering systems (FU, MLU, QMU, AGMU et al.);
- for process equipment (pumps, dosing skids, et al.);
- for equipment of the middle and upper level of management systems (panels and cabinets, automated work place of operators and dispatchers);
- the laboratory equipment.
Process rooms can be manufactured and delivered to the customer both as a separate subassembly, and fully supplied with technological equipment and life support system. Structurally technological chambers can be assembled on one or more frames placing the supporting structure, covered with non-combustible sandwich panels or profiled sheet with non-combustible insulation. The process rooms are provided, if necessary, with easy detachable design elements.
Process rooms provide the following subsystems to ensure a comfortable and safe operation of the equipment:
- Heating (electric or water), lighting and air conditioning;
- Ventilation inlet and exhaust (determined by the requirements of the design documentation);
- Devices of gas contamination control subsystem;
- Devices of fire detection and fire fighting subsystem (if necessary);
- Furniture for staff and equipment placement.
In addition, «GKS» RPE performs easy assembled buildings, manufactured in the factory conditions and to be assembled directly at the operation site.
The reference calibration units
RCU – is a part of the metering system designed for flow meters verification in the production line or directly on the operation site. Functionally flow units by GKS are divided into the following types depending on the equipment used:
- Stations for the verification of flow meters by means of a reference flow rate meter by an in-line method;
- Pipe- engine calibration units (PCU);
- Units for PCU calibration using reference measuring tanks.
Flow units can be manufactured and supplied to the customer — as a separate assembly unit, or as part of the metering system.
Structurally flow units of «GKS» RPE are manufactured in the following versions:
- Stationary (on a frame) to be placed in an existing building or block-box;
- Stationary placed in a block-box;
- Mobile, assembled on a trolley (for small meters);
- Mobile of open or close version assembled on the chassis of a car or a trailer.
Block-boxes to accommodate flow units on request of the customer are equipped with life support systems, gas contamination and fire control.
